Korean manufacturer Hyundai launched the Alcazar 3-row SUV in the Indian market in 2021. The company has now launched the Alcazar in the South African market, where it has been launched as the Hyundai Grand Creta. The company has launched it there at an initial price of 449,900 rand (about Rs 23.37 lakh).

The new Hyundai Grand Creta is offered in South Africa in 6 and 7-seat configurations. It is around 200 mm longer and comes with a 150 mm longer wheelbase than the 5-seater Creta SUV. It gets 180-litres of boot space, which can be expanded to 1,670-litres by folding down the second and third-row seats. The new Hyundai Grand Creta is based on the same K2 platform on which the Creta and Kia Seltos are built.

The new Grand Creta is powered by a naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 156bhp power and 191Nm torque. Compared to the Indian-spec model, the new 3-row Creta gets a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine. This engine generates power of 113bhp and torque of 250Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
