IMD Alert: Heavy rain in 10 states in next 48 hours, fog will increase in these states

Rainy season continues in South India. In view of heavy rains in many states, instructions are being given to keep schools closed.

There is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Leh, Ladakh including Uttarakhand, Himachal, while fog activity will increase in Punjab and Haryana. People advised to be cautious about earthquakes and landslides

This time, there is a possibility of less cold wave. The shadow of El Nino seems to be falling on the cold. The weather will remain dry in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. There will be a drop in night temperature. The sky will be cloudy in the morning. Due to low visibility, there are chances of increasing the number of clouds.

Rain in these states

  • There is a possibility of scattered rain/snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh.
  • Heavy rainfall has been predicted over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala – Mahe.
  • Scattered rain and thunderstorm may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Telangana.
  • Fairly widespread rain and storm may affect Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, North Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
  • Scattered rain is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
  • Dense fog may occur at isolated places in the Himalayan foothills in the morning.
