IMD Alert: The Meteorological Department issued a warning for thunderstorms, rain, and lightning in several districts of Bihar on Monday. According to the department, the weather may change in the northern and eastern parts of the state from Monday, leading to rain and thunderstorms along with strong winds in many areas.

Weather changes were felt in several districts of Bihar since late Sunday night. Dense clouds covered the sky in several areas, including Purnia, Kishanganj, and Araria in the Seemanchal region. The weather also changed in the capital, Patna, on Monday morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effects of this changing weather can be felt in areas from Purnia to Muzaffarpur and Jamui. These districts are expected to experience strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a “yellow alert” for these districts. Lightning strikes are also expected in many areas of northern and eastern Bihar, and people have been advised to remain vigilant.

According to the department, strong winds, with speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, are expected in several districts. Rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Khagaria, and Munger districts.

What is the weather like in Vaishali, Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Nawada, and Sheikhpura?

Farmers working in the fields and people in open spaces have been advised to exercise extreme caution due to strong winds and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the weather in some districts of central Bihar may remain relatively calm. Partly cloudy skies with light drizzle are possible in Vaishali, Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, and Begusarai. However, no major alert has been issued for these areas at this time.

The Meteorological Department predicts that this changed weather in the state may continue until the night of March 11th. During this time, intermittent rain and strong winds may be observed in many districts. After this, the weather is expected to return to normal from March 12th.
