Himachal Pradesh Weather Forecast: The effect of the scorching heat of May has started becoming visible in Himachal Pradesh. The mercury has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in the plains of the state. Heat has started wreaking havoc in the plains. Everyone is suffering from the scorching sun and heat since morning. As soon as the market opens, there is silence on the streets. The same situation continues from morning till evening.

Hamirpur’s Neri is the hottest

Neri in Hamirpur was the hottest place on Tuesday, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.4 degrees Celsius. Due to clear weather in the next two days, the temperature will increase further and it may cross 42 degrees. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of cloudy rain in most of the districts in the mountains after two days.

Alert of storm, rain and snowfall from 17 to 20 May

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the hilly areas from May 17 to 20. During this period, there may be rain and thundershowers in the mid-mountain districts of Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kullu and Chamba, while there may be snowfall in the high mountain areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and Pangi and Bharmour. Whereas due to clear weather in the plains, the heat wave will continue.

Temperature between 35 to 40 degrees

According to the Meteorological Department report, the day temperature in eight cities was recorded between 35 to 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. After Neri, Dhaula Kuan in Sirmaur district was the second hottest place, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.9 degrees Celsius.

Apart from this, it was 37.6 degrees in Bilaspur, 36.5 degrees in Barthin, 35.8 degrees in Mandi, 35.2 degrees in Sundernagar, 35.1 degrees in Chamba, 35 degrees in Kangra, 33.2 degrees in Bhuntar, 33.1 degrees in Bajuara, 31.4 in Hamirpur, 31.1 in Seobagh, It was 31-31 degrees Celsius in Dharamshala and Solan, 29.8 degrees Celsius in Jubbarhatti and Nahan and 29.4 degrees Celsius in Sainj.

Two degree rise in Shimla

Hilly areas are also not untouched by the heat. The day temperature in Shimla reached 26.4 degrees Celsius which was 24.4 degrees a day earlier. Due to bright sunshine in Shimla during the day, there was less footfall of tourists on Mall Road and the historic Ridge Ground. However, the weather remains pleasant in the morning and evening. The maximum temperature in Mashobra adjacent to Shimla was 25.3 degrees Celsius, while in Bharmour, Kufri and Narkanda it was 20.2 degrees Celsius.

Heat will be unbearable till 16th May

Director of Meteorological Center, Shimla, Surendra Paul, says that the effect of heat will increase due to further rise in temperature in the next two days. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the weather is likely to change in the hilly areas from 17th to 20th May. During this period, there may be light rain and snowfall in high altitude areas. But there will be no alert of any kind. There will be no significant change in the weather in the plains for the next six days.
