IMD Rainfall Alert: Heavy rain warning issued in these states till May 22, relief from scorching heat will come soon

Monsoon Update: Monsoon will reach South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands by May 19. Moreover, Monsoon is likely to reach Kerala on May 31.

IMD Rainfall Alert: Many parts of the country including North India are experiencing severe heat these days. Heatwave warning has been issued for the next five days in northwest India and Bihar. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department, while giving good news on monsoon, has said that it will reach South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands by May 19. Moreover, Monsoon is likely to reach Kerala on May 31. According to media reports, monsoon may enter UP around June 20. This means that there is still more than a month left for the heavy monsoon rains in UP.

Apart from this, warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in many states of South India till May 22. Talking about the weather in the last 24 hours, there was heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya and Kerala. At the same time, storm occurred in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The highest temperature of 44.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ganganagar in western Rajasthan.

According to the Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning has been issued in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, South Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Rayalaseema during the next seven days. Apart from this, light rain is expected over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada on May 16-18, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat on May 16.

At the same time, there will be light to moderate rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal on 19-22 May. Apart from this, a storm alert has also been issued. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Odisha today (May 16). There is an alert of thunderstorm and rain in all Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next seven days. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura will receive rain during the next seven days. A new Western Disturbance is coming in the Western Himalayan region of North India which will hit on May 17. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between May 17-19.
