The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the coastal districts of West Bengal (South and North 24 Parganas) on May 26 and 27. Heavy rain is expected at some places here.

Heatwave conditions were also seen in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Delhi Vidarbha, Haryana, Chandigarh etc. The highest temperature reached 49 degrees Celsius in Phalodi in western Rajasthan.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is going to be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal between 25-29 May. There will also be heavy rain in Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Coastal Karnataka. There will also be rain in Chhattisgarh on May 25 and 26, Jharkhand on May 25-28, Bihar on May 26-28, Uttarakhand on May 25-29, Vidarbha on May 25, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
