IMD Alert, Weather Update Today: Red alert of heavy rain has been issued in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa. These areas have been witnessing heavy rain for the last three days. The activity is going to continue in future also. Significant changes will be seen in the weather in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh also.
IMD Alert, Weather Update Today: Once again significant changes are being seen in the weather of the country. Warning of heavy rain has been issued in many states. With the activation of monsoon, changes in weather are being felt due to low pressure areas and being the creators of cyclones. Rain warning has been issued in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Light to moderate rain will continue in Haryana, Punjab and the capital Delhi, while a rain warning has been issued in Maharashtra and Vidarbha as well.
Rain activity continues in 17 states
Rain activity is going to continue in 17 states. There will be a ban on torrential rains in Uttar Pradesh for the time being. Whereas in Delhi NCR, rain was seen early in the morning. 21 cm rainfall has been recorded in Balangir, Orissa, while rainfall activity is going to continue in many areas of the national capital Delhi. There will also be a drop in temperature for a week. 13 cm rainfall has been recorded in Khajuraho of MP, while a record of 11 cm rainfall has been seen in Mainpuri of Chhattisgarh. 9 mm rainfall has also been recorded in Sironcha in Vidarbha.
Rain in many districts of Punjab on Thursday
Heavy rain was seen in many districts of Punjab on Thursday. Due to rain, there has been a situation of water logging at many places. Rain activity is going to continue in Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur also. Yellow alert of rain has also been issued in Dharamshala Dhaula Kuan of Himachal. With the western disturbance becoming active in Himachal, significant changes will be seen in the weather.
Rain warning has been issued in Haryana. Heavy rain is expected in 6 districts including Ranchi today. In Orissa, 47.5 mm rainfall has been recorded in 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a well marked pressure has become active in the Bay of Bengal. Due to which heavy rain will be seen. 72 mm rainfall has been recorded in Raigarh district. Heavy rain has been predicted in the districts along with Orissa. Red alert has been issued in Thuamul, Rampur, Kantamol, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Balangir.
Red alert in these states

Yellow alert in these states
States where yellow alert has been issued. Apart from Andaman Nicobar Islands, 12 districts of Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Telangana are proved to be among them.
Thunderstorm warning
States where thunderstorm warning has been issued. They include Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Central Maharashtra, Telangana, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and Marathwada. An increase in temperature can be seen in western Rajasthan today. The temperature can rise up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Weather system
- According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon line is passing through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa. The activity is going to continue for the next 5 days. Due to which rain activity is going to continue in Haryana, Punjab, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and eastern parts of Rajasthan.
- A cyclonic circulation is situated over southeast Uttar Pradesh. Due to which the low pressure area will be active.
- There is an east west line passing over eastern Rajasthan and UML. Which will affect the weather of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Alert in these states
- On Friday, heavy rain will be seen at many places in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
- At the same time, very heavy rain has been predicted in many parts of Western Madhya Pradesh including Vidarbha on Friday and Saturday.
- Heavy rain will be seen in the Ghat region of Gujarat, Konkan Goa and Central Maharashtra from Saturday to Monday.
- A warning of widespread rain, thunder and lightning has been issued for entire Orissa including West Bengal, Jharkhand and Telangana and Andaman Nicobar Islands between September 15 and 19.
- There has been a warning of heavy rain with lightning from 15 to 18 September.
- Heavy rains will continue in Uttarakhand till September 17
- Whereas in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh the weather is expected to remain like this till September 16. However, after September 16, significant changes will be seen in the weather in these areas.
