Giving information about the cyclonic storm “Midhili” formed over the Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Department has weakened and turned into a deep depression 50 km north-east over Tripura and adjacent Bangladesh, 60 km south-east of Agartala. According to IMD’s tweet on Saturday, Midhili is “likely to move north-east and weaken into a low pressure area over southern Assam and adjoining Mizoram-Tripura in 06 hours.” Fishermen have been warned to stay away from the sea on Saturday.

On the other hand, according to private weather agency Skyweight, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tripura during the next 24 hours, apart from this, there will be heavy rain in Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland, some coastal places of Odisha and West Bengal like Satpara, Puri, Jagatsingh. There is a possibility of stormy rain in Kendrapara, Nandigram and South 24 Parganas.
