Income Tax Refund: IT department refunds more than 2 lakh crores in taxpayers account, check this way

Income Tax Refund: In a tweet by the Income Tax Department, the CBDT has issued a refund of Rs 2,04,805 crore to 2.09 crore taxpayers from April 1, 2020 to March 15, 2021.

Income Tax Return (IT Return) is big for those who file. The Income Tax Department has given a refund of 2.04 lakh crore rupees to 2.09 crore taxpayers so far during the current financial year. According to the department, out of this, 2.06 crore taxpayers have been given a personal income tax refund of Rs 73,607 crore, while in 2.21 lakh cases, a corporate tax refund of Rs 1.31 lakh crore has been issued.




The Income Tax Department tweeted and said, CBDT has issued a refund of Rs 2,04,805 crore to 2.09 crore taxpayers from April 1, 2020 to March 15, 2021. Explain that the income tax department refunds the income tax refund to such taxpayers, if their TDS is deducted more than the income tax is made on the taxpayers.

Taxpayers filing ITR can check their tax refund online. You can find the IT refund income tax department website incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in or on the e-governance website National Security Depository Limited (NSDL) – tin.tin.nsdl.com.

This is the process of checking refunds

Whether you got income tax refund or not, you can easily find out sitting at home. To get income tax refund, first of all visit e-filing website of income tax https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home. Registered users login. To login on the website, you have to fill your PAN number, e-filing password and captcha.

After opening your profile on the website, click on ‘View returns / forms’. After this, click on ‘Income Tax Returns’ from the drop down menu and submit. After clicking on the hyperlink assessment number, a new screen will open. On this screen, you will get information about the timeline of filing, processing tax return. It will contain information about the date of filing, date of return confirmation, date of completion of processing, date of issue of refund and payment refund.

If your tax refund fails, then on this screen you will be told the reason why the return filed by you failed.
