Indian Railways has issued a new rule for passengers traveling with waiting tickets, fine will be imposed if caught.

Waiting Ticket Rule: A large number of people travel in Indian Railways every day. Many of these passengers have waiting tickets, yet they somehow complete their journey by standing to reach their destination. The problems of such people are going to increase now, because the Railways has now completely banned traveling in reserved coaches on waiting tickets.

Indian Railway: Indian Railways can tighten the rules related to the convenience of passengers. This will affect millions of railway passengers. It is being said in the media report that the Railways has taken a strict decision regarding traveling on waiting tickets from July 1. Railways has said that if any passenger breaks the rule now, not only will he be penalized, but the TT will also make him get off midway. For this, strict orders will also be given to the railway employees who check tickets in the train.

It is being said that the Railways has now completely banned traveling in reservation coaches on waiting tickets. This means that if your ticket remains waiting, then you cannot travel in AC or sleeper coach. Even if you have bought the ticket offline from the station window. Railways has now banned traveling in reserved coaches on this type of ticket as well. Although this decision has been implemented for the convenience of those traveling with confirmed tickets in reserved coaches, it will have a big impact on lakhs of passengers traveling on waiting tickets. However, no official statement has come from the railways yet.

What is its rule

Indian Railways has a rule that if a passenger has bought a waiting ticket from the station window, then he can travel in reserved coaches as well. If he has a waiting ticket for AC, then he can travel in AC and if he has a waiting ticket for sleeper, then he can travel in sleeper coach on a waiting ticket. However, there is already a ban on traveling on tickets bought online, because if the online ticket remains waiting, then it gets cancelled automatically.

What does the railway say

Railway officials say that the ban on traveling on waiting tickets is not from today but from the British era, but it is not being strictly followed. Railways has a clear rule that if you have bought a ticket from the window and it remains waiting, then cancel it and get the money back. Instead of doing this, passengers board the coach to travel. But, keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, strictness is not being done at the moment.

How much will be the fine?

According to the news, if a passenger with a waiting ticket is found travelling in a reserved coach, then the TT can impose a fine of Rs 440 on him and can make him get off the train on the way. Apart from this, the TT will also have the right to send the passenger to the general coach. The railway has received complaints from about 5 thousand passengers, in which the passengers had said that there is a lot of inconvenience due to the increasing crowd of people with waiting tickets in the reserved coaches.
