Indian Railways: These big trains are running late by five hours, some have been cancelled and many have been changed

Indian Railways has diverted the route of many trains and there are some trains whose destination has already been terminated. Apart from this, many long route trains have been cancelled at some stations.

Indian Railways: Due to monsoon rains in all the states across the country, there has been waterlogging at many places. Due to this, the railways have changed the timing of many trains. The route of some has been shortened and many long route trains have been canceled at some stations. On Sunday (July 7, 2024), Central Railway (CR) officials said that due to heavy rains and floods between 3 am and 6 am on the Vasind-Khardi section, the embankment of the railway track was damaged, an overhead equipment (OHE) pole bent and a tree was uprooted, due to which the services of Central Railway were disrupted.

The official said that the timing of LTT-Thiruvananthapuram Express, CSMT-Nagpur Duronto Express and LTT-Puri SF has been changed, while the journey of trains like Jalna-CSMT Vande Bharat Express and Manmad-CSMT Super Fast Express has been terminated at Igatpuri before the destination.

Which trains’ timings were changed

Usually this train leaves Mumbai’s Lokmanyatilak (LTT) station at 11:40 am and reaches the next day at 5:50 pm, but due to rain, this train was delayed by five hours on July 7. The train was cancelled at three stations from LTT to Panvel and then departed from Roha at 6:11 pm, whereas it usually leaves from this station at 2:05 pm. On July 8, the train will reach its destination station Thiruvananthapuram 4 hours late than its scheduled time. It is expected to reach here at 11:46 pm.

The train departs from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai at 8:15 pm and reaches Nagpur at 7:20 am the next day. Due to rain, it is running 4-5 hours late. On July 8, it left at 1:38 pm, while its departure time was 8:35 pm on July 7. According to the railways, the train will cover the time quickly and will reach Puri at 6:55 am on July 9.

Routes of these trains changed

Railways terminated the journey of train number 20705 Jalna-CSMT Vande Bharat Express and Manmad-CSMT Super Fast Express at Igatpuri before the destination. According to Central Railways, the route of many trains has been changed and sent via Kalyan-Lonavala-Pune-Miraj-Londa-Madgaon. The official said that tower wagons and other machines were put to work to clear the debris collected due to rain on the railway track and restore traffic on the section. He said that the railway track was declared safe at 12.30 pm and normal traffic resumed with limited speed on the section at one o’clock.

Officials had earlier said that around 6.30 am, mud came on the tracks between Atgaon and Thansit stations and a tree fell near Vasind station, blocking the track, disrupting rail traffic on the busy route.
