Indigo flights: Big relief for air passenger! Indigo flights to operate from the new airport from December 25

Indigo: Mumbai travelers are in for a major relief as Indigo will begin flight services from the newly renovated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) on December 25th. In the first phase, the airline will connect 10 cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Goa, Jaipur, Nagpur, Cochin, and Mangalore. This modern airport, with a capacity of 20 million passengers annually, will elevate air connectivity in the Mumbai region. Akasa Air will also begin flights in phases starting on the same day.

Indigo: The people of Mumbai, the country’s industrial capital, are soon in for a major respite. The budget airline is set to begin operating flights from the newly built airport in Mumbai at the end of December. Indigo announced on Saturday that it will begin operating flights from the newly built Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) on December 25th. This plan will connect 10 cities with domestic air services.

NMIA to serve 20 million passengers annually

Indigo also stated that it plans to expand its operations from the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, adding more destinations over time. The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) spans 1,160 hectares and will have one terminal and one runway in its first phase. Its annual passenger capacity will be 20 million. The first phase of the airport was built at a cost of ₹19,650 crore.

Flights will fly to 10 cities, including Delhi.

Navi Mumbai International Airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8, 2025. IndiGo said it will connect the airport to 10 cities in India, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, North Goa (Mopa), Jaipur, Nagpur, Cochin, and Mangalore, starting December 25.

Akasa Airlines to also launch flights

Another airline, Akasa Air, said it will begin operations from NMIA in a phased manner starting December 25th. Akasa Air will operate its first flight between Delhi and NMIA. Services to Goa, Kochi, and Ahmedabad will then commence in the coming days.
