Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme 2020: Pregnant Women Will get Rs. 6,000

Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme 2020

Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme or Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme has been launched by the Government of Rajasthan on 19 November 2020. In this scheme, CM Ashok Gehlot has announced to provide Rs 6,000 to pregnant women in Rajasthan. Assistance of Rs 6000 will be provided in five stages on the birth of the second child.

Rajasthan State Government has launched Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme for the nutrition of pregnant women, women and children. Under the first phase of this scheme, pregnant women from 4 districts of the state will get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 in installments

Installments / amount in Indira Gandhi Matri Pavan Yojana

There will be 5 stages for distribution of assistance under Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme in Rajasthan: –

  • First installment of Rs 1000 – Pregnancy, Screening and Registration
  • Second installment of Rs 1000 – check at least two
  • Third installment of Rs 1000 – on institutional delivery
  • Fourth installment 2000 rupees – on all regular vaccines till 105 days after childbirth
  • Fifth installment of 1000 rupees – on adopting the means of family planning within 3 months of the birth of the second child.

Assistance amount will be provided to pregnant women beneficiaries in 4 districts at the time of second child born on 1 November 2020.

Online application for Rajasthan Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme

Like other maternity benefit schemes such as PM Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), the state government can invite online applications for the scheme. The Rajasthan government can invite the Indira Gandhi Matru Pavan Yojana registration form on the official website rajasthan.gov.in or on a new dedicated portal. The online application process has not been started yet. As soon as the process of filling the Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme online application form starts, we will update it here.

 

List of documents for Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme

According to official information, pregnant woman and her children will get help in four districts Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara and Pratapgarh. Assistance is being provided to the pregnant woman and her child under the Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme for adequate nutrition. For this, applicants have to show the following documents: –

  • Aadhar Card
  • Other ID related documents like Ration Card, Voter ID
  • Photo copy of bank account or post office account passbook
  • 4 recent passport size photos

In addition, financial assistance can also be obtained by showing health card issued from PHC or government hospital.

Phase 1 of Rajasthan Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme
Rajasthan Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme Phase 1 has been started in 4 tribal majority (most backward) districts, whose names are as follows: –

  • Udaipur
  • Dungarpur
  • Banswara
  • Pratapgarh

These 4 districts have been selected based on the ranking of maternal and child nutrition indicators. Later, it will be implemented in a phased manner across the state. The plan was announced in this year’s state budget. At present, the scheme has been started in four extreme backward TSP districts of Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, based on the rankings on maternal and child nutrition indicators. The state government will implement it in the entire state in a phased manner.

Beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi Matru Pavan

Over 77,000 women in the state will be benefitted from the Indira Gandhi Maternity Nutrition Scheme. The Rajasthan government will spend an amount of Rs 43 crore per year for the successful implementation of the Indira Gandhi Matru Pavan. CM Ashok Gehlot has described the scheme as historic in the name of former PM Indira Gandhi. This scheme is an important step of Rajasthan government in the direction of women empowerment.

Funding will be done by the State Mineral Foundation Trust under the Department of Mines and Geology. At the inauguration of the scheme, 2,000 beneficiaries from four districts were given checks worth Rs 1,000 as the first installment.
