With the aim of providing social security to the farmer families, many schemes are being run by the state governments, including farmers’ insurance. While the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is being run to compensate for the loss of crops due to natural calamities, the scheme is also being run to compensate the farmers for the damage caused due to accident during agricultural works.
The Rajasthan government has ordered to re-verify the claims which have been rejected under the accident insurance of farmers.
Rajasthan Registrar Cooperatives Shri Muktanand Agrawal said that the insurance company will verify the rejected insurance claims of farmers for accident insurance of farmers and Sahakar Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojana.
He said that insurance has been arranged to help the farmer family in difficult situations. In such a situation, if the insurance claim is rejected due to lack of documents with any farmer, then it will be verified after getting the claim.
Insurance claim rejected between 2016 and 21 will be verified
Mr. Aggarwal held a review meeting with the insurance companies to review the claims submitted to the insurance company, claim payments and claims rejected by the company from the year 2016-17 to the year 2020-2021. He said that the company should speedily settle the pending claims of the farmers and give relief to the farmer. He said that at present the list of large number of pending claims by Universal Champs, which are missing in the list of documents, should be shared with the Central Co-operative Banks. Representatives of the department, banks and 6 insurance companies were present in the meeting.
