Internship Programme: Students studying in fields like engineering, computer science, mathematics and humanities will now get an opportunity to work in the field of research and innovation in collaboration with leading universities and industries working in the field of research in Canada.
In this regard, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an agreement with Mitex of Canada to start a Globalink Research Internship Programme. Under this, every year three hundred Indian students will be provided paid research related internship in Canada.
Opportunity to do an internship in Canada
According to AICTE, this agreement with Mitacs is for the next three years. During this period, 300 students will be provided internship opportunities each year.
Eligible Indian graduate students will be offered 12-week funded research internships at leading Canadian universities, scheduled between May and October.
This will provide students with the opportunity to work in world-class laboratories, experience the international research ecosystem, and learn from and guide global experts. Applications for the 2027 internship will begin on August 5, 2026, and end on September 16, 2026.
