The Finance Minister said that measures like introduction of updated income tax returns, Form 26AS and earlier filing of tax returns have significantly simplified the process of filing tax returns, resulting in an average processing time of 93 days in 2013-14. It has reduced to only 10 days in the current year. The Finance Minister assured that these reforms help in processing refunds faster, which benefits taxpayers.
