ITR: Recently, for the convenience of taxpayers, the Income Tax Department had launched a new portal, but many taxpayers are facing problems in filing Income Tax (ITR).

This work will not happen until you have updated some important information. This is what we are going to tell you today.

Taxpayers update their personal details

According to CA Ashish Jain, taxpayers will have to do some work before using the new portal. Because the information given by the taxpayers earlier is no longer there.

Such as digital signature, e-mail id and mobile number will have to be given again. For this, re-register the DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) by visiting the new portal www.incometax.gov.in.

Apart from this, update your personal mobile number and e-mail ID by going to ‘primary contact’.

These are the special features in the new portal

  • New website more user friendly
  • It will be easy to file ITR and refund will also be available soon
  • All transactions, uploads and pending actions will be visible on a single dashboard so that users can review them and take action as per the need
  • This will make it easier to file ITR, review it and take any action
  • ITR preparation software available for free for both online and offline situations – It will also have the facility of assisting the taxpayers and also get the option of pre-filing, so that there is minimum data entry
  • All the necessary features of the desktop portal will also be available on the mobile app

A new tax payment system will be introduced in the new portal, in which there will be many payment options, such as Net Banking, UPI, RTGS, NEFT etc.

In addition to the answers to the FAQ for taxpayers, the software will have many other types of information and tools. With their help, any taxpayer can file tax.

There are so many individual registered users

According to media reports, there are more than 846 crore individual registered users on the e-filing portal. More than 3.13 crore ITRs are e-verified for the assessment year 2020-21 (FY 2019-20).
