South Superstar Rajinikanth’s film Jailer stormed the box office. The film has earned 550 crores within two weeks. Now soon it is going to knock on OTT.
South Superstar Rajinikanth’s recently released film Jailer is winning the hearts of the audience and critics. Directed by Nelson, the film has emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year. The film has crossed the Rs 550 crore mark worldwide within just 2 weeks of its release in theatres. In such a situation, if you have not seen the jailer till now, then there is good news for you.
The makers of Jailor will soon be streaming the film on a leading digital streaming platform. The OTT rights of Rajinikanth’s Jailer were sold to OTT giant Netflix for a huge amount. Netflix bought the rights of the action-thriller for Rs 100 crore. Most theatrical releases stream on OTT 6-8 weeks after they hit the theatres, Jailor will reportedly release on OTT soon.
According to reports, the makers of the film have signed a 4-week deal with Netflix and in such a situation, the film can be released on the digital streaming platform in the first week of September itself.Notably, Jailer was slated to release in theaters on August 11, 2023. Which got a lot of love from the audience.
The film has so far collected around Rs 300 crore at the Indian box office and is nearing the Rs 600 crore mark worldwide. On the 14th day of its theatrical release, the film earned around Rs 3.65 crore, taking its total box office collection in India to Rs 295.65 crore.
Starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film revolves around Muthuvel Pandian, a strict but kind-hearted jailer, who sets out to stop a gang when they try to let their leader escape from prison.
