Jammu kashmir Lt Governor launches Saath scheme for rural women entrepreneurs

The Lt Governor said that the government of the Union Territory aims to transform the women of Jammu and Kashmir into entrepreneurial women instead of job seekers.

The ‘Saath’ scheme has been started to promote rural women entrepreneurs of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme was launched by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. Under the initiative of J&K Rural Livelihood Mission, Self Help Groups women entrepreneurs will be provided mentorship and assistance through intensive training and capacity building workshops to enhance their business ventures.




An official spokesperson said that 5000 women will participate in the entrepreneurial workshops. Out of this, 500 will be provided training to increase the enterprise. Apart from this, 100 women will be selected as experienced business consultants under the ‘Saath’ initiative.

Rural Livelihood Mission

Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor said that the specially designed scheme ‘Saath’ would be a major contributor to the socio-economic upliftment of women in rural and semi-urban areas. He said that apart from thriving business ecology in rural areas, the scheme under Rural Livelihoods Mission will nurture existing enterprises into sustainable and high productivity ventures through skilling, mentoring and market linkages.

Contribution to domestic product will increase

The Lt Governor said that the government of the Union Territory aims to transform the women of Jammu and Kashmir into entrepreneurial women instead of job seekers. This will increase their contribution to the GDP of the Union Territory. He described economic independence as an important indicator of female entrepreneurship.

Show the right path to the confused people

“We are seeing better upliftment of women entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, young entrepreneurs are also bringing a change in the society in many ways by which they are ensuring economic security and prosperity for others. The Lieutenant Governor said that “they are exemplary for us, they are not among those who shed innocent blood and indulge in violence.” I appeal to women entrepreneurs to show the right path to such confused people.




Portal for investment has been launched

Recently, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has started a portal for investment schemes worth Rs 50 thousand crores for Jammu and Kashmir. This portal will work for the registration of units under the ‘New Central Sector Scheme’ of industrial development of Jammu and Kashmir. After the removal of Article 370, the central government is trying to improve the situation there.
