Shortly after the marriage of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, Jaya Bachchan along with her daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda participated in TV’s most popular reality show ‘Coffee With Karan’. The host of this show Karan Johar had asked Jaya Bachchan many questions about Aishwarya Rai. During the conversation on the show, Jaya Bachchan had praised Aishwarya Rai fiercely and also said that she has always liked Aishwarya.
Jaya Bachchan had said that Aishwarya Rai is a very big star but she has mixed very well in the Bachchan family. She adds, “She is very sweet. I love her very much. I have always liked Aishwarya very much. She is calm and despite being such a big star, whenever we are together, she stays back and never tries to attract attention to herself. She listens very carefully to everything and also understands. The best thing is that she has fit into our family very well.

Karan Johar had asked newly-made mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan if her daughter-in-law Aishwarya could lighten some of her responsibilities. To which Jaya says, “I hope she will reduce a lot of my responsibility, not ‘something'”.
