Jio launches VoNR service across the country, now you will get the real experience of 5G calling in India

Jio has taken a big step to overcome the problems in making calls. Actually, the telecom company has launched a new technology across the country, which is called Voice over New Radio (VoNR). This service of Jio works on their own i.e. homegrown 5G standalone core.

Reliance Jio keeps updating its service continuously keeping in view the convenience of the customers, so that its users do not face any kind of problem. In such a situation, Jio has taken a big step to overcome the problems in making calls. Actually, the telecom company has introduced a new technology across the country, which is called Voice over New Radio (VoNR). This service of Jio works on their own i.e. homegrown 5G standalone core. Jio claims that with this service every compatible Jio 5G phone will turn into a mini studio. With this, users will get the experience of ultra-clear voice calls. Along with this, there will be no need for any fallback.

Let us tell you that till now most telecom companies used to provide 5G internet, but relied on 4G network in the backend for calling. VoNR fills this gap and gives users a calling experience based entirely on 5G core.

What is VoNR?

Jio’s new technology VONR is replacing older systems like VOLTE. This fully 5G phone gives native voice calls. Due to this technology, the call gets connected quickly. With its arrival, problems like call drops and voice interruption will also be almost eliminated. Jio also says that this will also save the battery of the users’ phone. Along with this, call routing and network efficiency will be better.

Note that till now calling was done on 4G network through VoLTE (Voice over LTE). But even after the launch of 5G, the transition of calling was not complete. The result was that internet speed was available from 5G but calling quality and stability depended on 4G only. VoNR eliminates this gap.

Jio’s big claim

Jio claims that its VoNR rollout is completely based on indigenous technology stack. This means that everything from backend infrastructure to service management is built with the help of Indian engineers and partners.

This is not only a big step towards technology independence but can also make India a country exporting digital solutions in the future.

Jio’s service started across the country

Jio VoNR service is not just a feature but it is also a strategic move of the company. The company is moving towards technology independence by using its in-house 5G SA core and IMS-enhanced VoNR infrastructure.

Jio will export the service in the global market

Jio has more than 500 subscribers across the country. In such a situation, this service will not only improve the call quality but will also help Jio in creating sovereign telecom systems. With this, the company will not have to depend on any external system. In future, Jio will be able to export its 5G technology to the global market, so that India’s technology will be able to make a mark in the world.

What will be the benefits of VONR?

Fast call connection – The call will be connected within a few seconds of picking up the phone.

Better voice quality – HD+ sound will make the conversation even clearer.

Reduction in call drops – There will be no problem of network switching.

Battery Saving – The phone does not have to repeatedly shift between 4G and 5G.

Seamless Internet + Calling – Internet browsing can continue at 5G speed even while talking on a call.
