Kashmir Weather: Due to incessant rains, many roads in the Kashmir Valley including Jammu-Srinagar Highway, Mughal Road, Srinagar Leh Road and roads leading to remote areas of Kupwara, Gurez have had to be closed.

Snowfall In Valley: Due to rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, roads in the hilly and adjacent areas including Srinagar-Jammu have been closed for vehicular movement. The Meteorological Department has predicted more snowfall and rain till April 30. Meanwhile, the authorities have also ordered closure of Mughal Road, Srinagar Leh Road in view of bad weather and accumulation of snow on Pir-ki-Gali, Sadana Top, Razdan Top and Zojila Pass road. An official of the Meteorological Department said that in the last 24 hours till 8 pm today, 4.5 mm rainfall was received in Srinagar, 10.2 mm in Qazigund, 20.8 mm in Pahalgam, 15.1 mm in Kupwara, 9.8 mm in Kokernag.

Fresh snowfall was seen in many hilly areas and some tourist places including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Karna, Machil Gurez. After April 30, the weather is expected to remain generally dry till May 1-5.
