A unique case of theft has been seen from Kishanganj in Bihar. Where the thieves stole the battery, not the cash from the ATM. The case is about an ATM located outside the branch of Indian Overseas Bank in Paschimali. This entire case was captured in CCTV.
Two thieves entered the ATM first in the night and then broke the door of the cabinet inside the ATM and stole three batteries in the ATM and took them away. During this time, he did not even try to withdraw cash from the ATM. On getting information about the case from the branch manager of the bank, a case was registered in Kishanganj police station.
Prabha Nandan, branch manager of Indian Overseas Bank, has given an application for theft in Kishanganj police station. The branch manager said in the application in the police station that at around quarter to four in the morning of 6 February, two thieves entered the ATM and broke the cabinet door in the ATM and stole the batteries kept in it.
Branch manager Prabha Nandan said that cash and other items have not been tampered with the ATM except the battery. Cash and other items are safe. He has mentioned that the matter has been captured in the CCTV installed in the ATM. On the other hand, the police has started investigating based on CCTV footage.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Anwar Javed Ansari went to the ATM to get information about the incident from the branch manager and also watched the CCTV. Currently, the police have identified the culprits on the basis of CCTV and raids are being conducted for their arrest.
