Sanon made her acting debut in the 2014 Telugu psychological thriller 1: Nenokkadine, directed by Sukumar. Sanon played Sameera, a journalist who is the like interest of Mahesh Babu’s lead character Gautham, a successful singer with a questionable personality. Different ratings from critics were given to the film. However, Sanon “acts well” and “looks stunning,” according to The Times of India’s reviewer.
A Sify.com critic contrasted this with another who claimed she “looks lovely” and that her performance was “good” for a debutante. In the action-romance film Heropanti, directed by Sabbir Khan and starring Tiger Shroff, a novice, Sanon made her Hindi cinema debut later that year.
