LED Credit Card: CheQ and AU Small Finance Bank have launched India’s first LED credit card. The card lights up when a payment is made using it. It offers users a new digital payment experience, coupled with a superior and simplified rewards system.
LED Credit Card: These days, the use of credit cards has become commonplace. Beyond just metro cities, the trend of using credit cards can now be observed in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well. In this digital era, credit cards have become an integral part of our daily lives. Amidst this, a piece of news regarding credit cards has emerged that may leave you surprised. LED-equipped credit cards are now set to become available in India. With these cards, an LED light will illuminate the moment a payment is made. This development is being hailed as a major innovation within India’s credit card sector. The credit management platform CheQ has partnered with AU Small Finance Bank to launch the country’s first LED-powered co-branded credit card.
This card is making waves thanks to its unique “Tap-to-Pay LED feature,” which lights up during every transaction. The most distinctive aspect of this card is its built-in LED lighting system. As soon as a user taps the card to make a contactless payment, the embedded LED light illuminates. This technology draws power from the POS machine’s NFC field, meaning it requires no internal battery. This makes the payment experience both more interactive and secure.
A Truly Exceptional Rewards System
For CheQ, this launch marks a significant milestone. Previously operating as a bill payment platform, the company is now establishing a strong presence within the credit and rewards ecosystem through this card. The rewards system offered with the card is equally remarkable. All rewards are awarded in the form of “CheQ Points,” which users can easily track and redeem on a single, unified platform. This effectively simplifies the often-complex rewards structures found in traditional credit cards.
The LED Credit Card Supports UPI
In addition, the card features UPI support. This allows users to link their RuPay credit card to UPI and make payments. Furthermore, they can earn rewards while doing so. If you wish to obtain this credit card, you can apply for it via the CheQ app starting April 28, 2026.
What are the Fees for the LED Credit Card?
The annual fee for the LED credit card is ₹499, which can be waived upon achieving an annual spend of ₹3 lakh. Cardholders will also receive a welcome benefit in the form of an EazyDiner membership worth ₹695. Additionally, an extra one-time charge of ₹999 applies to the LED version of the card; however, this fee has been waived for CheQ customers until May 31, 2026.
Why the LED Credit Card Is Special
Until now, CheQ served solely as a credit card bill payment platform; however, with this launch, the company has made its entry into the credit card insurance, rewards, and commerce space. This card has been designed based on data derived from 15 million credit cards and 4 million users. The existing credit card landscape presented certain challenges—such as scattered rewards, complex redemption processes, and an outdated user experience. Now, however, this card consolidates everything into a single place. According to the company, the card’s greatest strength lies in its unified rewards system. All rewards will be accessible within a single app and can be utilized with ease.
