Life Certificate: Big News! Submit life certificate easily at home by paying Rs 70, know how

A pensioner can submit the Life Certificate digitally through the doorstep service of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). This is a paid service and is available to all pensioners at a cost of Rs 70.

A pensioner can submit the Life Certificate digitally through the doorstep service of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). This is a paid service and is available to all pensioners at a cost of Rs 70. To avail this service, pensioners do not need to have an IPPB account. A pensioner having a pension account in any bank can avail this facility. This service has been made available to all pensioners across the country through the joint efforts of the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, Department of Posts, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and Ministry of Electronics and IT (IPPB).

How to submit life certificate

Pensioners can also submit life certificate through the mobile app launched by India Post Payments Bank.

Step-1: First of all you have to download Postinfo App from Google Play Store.

Step-2: Open the app and go to service request. After this you will have to submit your name, address, pin code and mobile number.

Step-3: After this you have to go to India Post Payment Bank and select the life certificate.

Step-4: After OTP confirmation, your request for Digital Life Certificate will be forwarded to the nearest post office.

Step-5: Within 48 hours the postman will send the digital life certificate to you.

Step-6: When the postman comes to your home for digital life certificate, you will have to keep Aadhaar number, PPO number ready.

Step-7: After this the postman will fill all the information of the pensioner and take the fingerprint of the pensioner. You will have to pay Rs 70 in cash.

Step-8: After this, this life certificate will reach your pension disbursing bank. Pension Disbursing Bank will send you a message informing you about submitting your life certificate.

It is very important to submit life certificate

Crores of people in the country get pension from the central or state government. At present there are about 69.76 lakh pensioners of the Central Government. Whereas so many pensioners are from the state government and other institutions. To ensure that your pension continues to come, pensioners have to submit their life certificates to banks every year. If you do not do this, your pension may be stopped.
