Have LPG Cylinder Booking Rules Changed Since May 1st?
Until now, you could obtain an LPG cylinder simply by presenting your passbook. However, that is no longer the case. You will not be able to receive a single cylinder without an OTP. Distributors will be unable to hand over an LPG cylinder without a DAC number. This rule has been further tightened starting today.
How often can LPG be booked? (LPG booking frequency)
Starting today—May 1st—LPG cylinders in urban areas can be booked at an interval of 25 days, instead of the previous 21 days. Meanwhile, in rural areas, LPG cylinders can already be booked at an interval of 45 days. The government has established these regulations to improve supply and prevent misuse.
98% of Bookings Are Being Made Online
Currently, 98% of cylinder bookings are being made online. Meanwhile, 94% of deliveries are being processed through delivery codes. This has helped curb black marketing.

If you have not completed the eKYC process for your LPG passbook, you will not be able to receive a cylinder. It has now become mandatory to complete Aadhaar-based eKYC. Notably, customers who have not yet completed their eKYC are facing difficulties in booking LPG cylinders.

Today in Delhi, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹993. Consequently, the price of a 19-kilogram LPG cylinder has reached the level of ₹3,071.50. However, the companies have not implemented any price hike for domestic cylinders today. The rates for domestic LPG cylinders were last increased in March; since then, prices have remained stable.
