LPG Gas price hiked 265 rupees one year Cooking gas latest price Ujjwala Yojana vision hampered

In the last one year, there has been a huge jump in the price of LPG gas by Rs 265. Only this year so far LPG has become costlier by Rs 165. According to the report, 32 million consumers of Ujjwala Yojana did not refill gas in the first quarter.




LPG Gas Cylinder Price: Like petrol and diesel, the price of cooking gas is also skyrocketing. Due to this, cooking on gas stove has stopped for poor families. According to a report, in the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year (2021-22), 32 million consumers have not refilled gas under the Ujjwala scheme. In the last one year, the price of domestic gas cylinders has increased by Rs 265. Recently, on August 17, its price had increased by Rs 25. The 14.2 kg non-subsidized gas cylinder costs Rs 859.50 in Delhi, Rs 859.50 in Mumbai, Rs 886 in Kolkata and Rs 875.50 in Chennai. In the last eight months this year, the price of gas cylinders has gone up by Rs 165. As on 31 December 2020, the price of gas cylinder in Delhi was Rs 694, in Kolkata Rs 720.50, in Mumbai Rs 694 and in Chennai Rs 710. The government has significantly reduced the subsidy during the Corona period. This is the reason why the price has gone up a lot. The government has also gradually reduced the subsidy on LPG gas cylinders. According to the report of CNBC TV18, in the financial year 2019-20, the government had given 29 thousand 627 crore rupees as subsidy on LPG gas cylinders. Seeing the way the price of gas cylinders is increasing, it is believed that the purpose of Ujjwala scheme will remain incomplete. In the first phase of this scheme, 8.03 crore gas connections have been distributed. In the current financial year, the government will distribute 1 crore more free connections. Ujjwala Scheme 2.0 has been launched by PM Modi on 10th August. In the April-June quarter, 32 million Ujjwala Yojana consumers have not refilled gas.
