LPG Distribution System: Strictness on LPG supply; gas cylinders will no longer be available without an OTP. Uninterrupted supply of cooking gas in the state, strict action against diversion orders. Increased monitoring of gas agencies, with field officers ordered to conduct daily inspections.
LPG Supply OTP Rule: Jaipur. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara has taken significant steps to provide relief to domestic gas consumers in the state and make the supply system transparent. In a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat on Thursday, he issued clear instructions that gas cylinders will no longer be delivered to any consumer without OTP verification and diary entry.
He stated that, as directed by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, domestic gas supply in the state is fully operational, and cylinders are being delivered to consumers within three to four days of booking. Uninterrupted gas supply is also being ensured to hospitals, educational institutions, Annapurna kitchens, and religious places.
The Minister stated that there is sufficient stock of LPG in the state, so consumers need not panic. He explained that gas is being supplied continuously through approximately 1,300 gas agencies operating in the state.
Strict monitoring to prevent diversion
The meeting revealed that gas distribution without OTP was leading to diversion in some locations, causing inconvenience to genuine consumers. The Minister issued strict instructions to gas companies to ensure mandatory implementation of the OTP system and diary entry at all agencies.
In addition, all gas agencies have been instructed to raise awareness among consumers through posters and banners, so that no consumer remains unaware of the rules.
Increased monitoring at the field level, surprise inspections continue
Minister Godara directed field officers of gas companies to conduct surprise inspections of at least one gas agency daily and submit the report with geotagging to the department. He particularly emphasized the need for increased monitoring in remote areas to completely prevent any diversion.
Ambarish Kumar, Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, stated that there is no shortage of gas cylinder supply in the state and that through continuous monitoring, gas is being made available to consumers on time.
Representatives of gas companies also assured that due to regular supply, booking pressure has reduced and servers are functioning smoothly, providing better services to consumers.
