Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly election dates announced, by-elections also announced, know the complete schedule

Today, the Election Commission held a press conference regarding the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections and announced the dates of the elections. Elections will be held in one phase in Maharashtra and in two phases in Jharkhand. During this, the dates of by-elections were also announced.

New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced the dates for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Elections will be held in Maharashtra on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23. Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase. Voting will take place in Jharkhand on November 13 and 20 and the results will be declared on November 23. Elections will be held in two phases in Jharkhand.

By-election dates also announced

By-elections will be held on 9 seats in UP on November 13.
Assembly by-elections will be held in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand on November 20.
Lok Sabha bypoll will be held in Wayanad on November 13.
By-elections in Milkipur seat of Ayodhya and Basirhat were stopped.
Milkipur by-election has been stopped due to election petition.
The results of the by-election will also come on November 23.

How many voters are there in Maharashtra and Jharkhand? Chief Election Commissioner told
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there will be 9 crore 63 lakh voters in Maharashtra. There are 5 crore male voters here. Voting will take place at one lakh polling booths here. There will be about 960 voters at every booth in Maharashtra. Polling booths have been increased in Mumbai.

Rajiv told that there are 2 crore 60 lakh voters in Jharkhand. There are 1 crore 31 lakh male voters and 1 crore 29 lakh female voters. Voting will take place at 29 thousand 562 booths in Jharkhand. There will be 881 voters at every booth in Jharkhand.

Election Commission also gave a statement on EVM

The Election Commission has also given a statement on EVMs. The Election Commission said that there is no tampering in EVMs. EVMs are completely safe. The polling agent’s signature will also be on the EVM battery. EVMs will be under 3-layer security. EVMs use single-use batteries. EVMs do not have batteries like mobiles.

How many assembly seats in Maharashtra?

There are a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, in which 145 seats are required for a majority. In the 2019 elections, BJP got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54, Congress 44 and others got 29 seats.

How many assembly seats in Jharkhand?

There are 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand. In the last election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) got 30 seats and BJP got 25 seats, while 26 seats went to other parties. JMM emerged as the largest party in the election.
