Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme: Women who are facing financial problems to start their business, they need not worry. ‘Mahila Udyam Nidhi Scheme’ is run by SIDBI.

Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided at an affordable rate to promote women’s enterprise and to start business for women. Women do not have to give any collateral or security to take the loan.

Business loan is given by SIDBI to start a new business of small and medium size and to expand the old business.

SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) will help such women. Activities like manufacturing and production can be started under the funding received under the Women’s Enterprise Fund.

Under this scheme, loans are given to women at low interest rates to make them businessmen. Under this scheme, women can take a maximum loan of Rs.

Loan repayment facility is available in maximum 10 years. There will also be a moratorium period of five years. The special thing is that women do not have to give any collateral or security to take the loan. Many banks are associated with this scheme.

Under the scheme agriculture and farm equipment service, beauty parlour, salon, tailoring, canteen and restaurant, nursery, laundry and dry cleaning, computerized desk top publishing, cable TV network, photocopy (Xerox) centre, road transport operator, day care centre. Small industries can be started, training institutes, repairing washing machines and other electronic and electrical gadgets, making jam-jelly and marmalade etc.

To start small business and ultra-small business, it is necessary for the applicant woman to be associated with any industry. The female entrepreneur should have at least 51% ownership in the business.
