DMRC Luggage Rules: Delhi Metro is called the heart of Delhi because traveling in the metro is easy, safe, and comfortable. Traveling in the metro also saves time. Now Delhi Metro has access to every corner of Delhi-NCR. Be it the interstate bus terminal, airport, or railway station, everywhere can be reached by metro. People often travel by Delhi Metro to reach the airport or railway station on time. But before traveling in Delhi Metro (DMRC), it is very important to check the weight and size of your luggage, because violating the rules can prevent you from entering the station.

What are the DMRC Luggage Rules?

It’s crucial to be mindful of the weight and size of luggage when carrying luggage on the Delhi Metro. The Delhi Metro has established rules for this. Violating these rules can result in being barred from entering the station.

Metro Luggage Rules on Regular Metro Lines

If you’re traveling on the Red, Yellow, Blue, or any other regular line, only one bag is allowed per passenger, with a maximum weight of 25 kilograms. Furthermore, the bag’s size should not exceed 80 cm (length) x 50 cm (width) x 30 cm (height).

Airport Express Line Metro Luggage Rules (Orange Line)

Slight relaxations have been provided for passengers traveling to the airport. A maximum of 32 kg, with a maximum of two bags, is permitted per passenger on the Airport Line. Furthermore, the baggage size must not exceed 90 cm x 75 cm x 45 cm.

According to the DMRC, luggage must only be carried in bags or suitcases on the Metro. No bundles or loose bundles are permitted. The DMRC Baggage Scanners located at station entry gates are equipped with steel gauges. If your luggage exceeds the permitted size, it will not pass through the scanner and you will not be allowed entry.
