Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan and his teammates have been fined for slow over-rate during their match against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to an official statement, Morgan has been fined Rs 24 lakh, while other players in the playing XI have been fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their match fee.

“Kolkata Knight Riders have been fined for slow over rate against Mumbai Indians,” IPL said in a statement. KKR captain Eoin Morgan has been fined Rs 24 lakh as the team has done this for the second time in this session under the IPL’s code of conduct.




It is worth noting that on the basis of the brilliant batting of Rahul Tripathi (74 not out) and Venkatesh Iyer (53) last day, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Mumbai Indians by seven wickets. KKR won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Mumbai scored 155 for six in 20 overs. Chasing Hadaf, KKR’s team won the match by making 159 for three wickets in 15.1 overs. For Mumbai, Jasprit Bumrah got off to chase the target for three wickets, KKR had a great start, openers Iyer and Shubman Gill put on a 40-run partnership for the first wicket.
