JioHotstar has made a major change to its subscription structure for new users, now offering monthly plans in three categories: Mobile, Super, and Premium. The company says this decision was made to make the platform more affordable and to accommodate users’ changing viewing habits. Keeping in mind the growing viewership, especially on smart TVs and big screens, JioHotstar has now introduced the option to choose a monthly plan. The new monthly plans will be effective January 28th and will be available alongside the existing quarterly and annual plans.

This plan allows streaming on only one mobile device at a time, and video quality is limited to 720p HD. However, it doesn’t include Hollywood content. If users prefer to watch Hollywood movies and series, they will need to purchase a separate add-on for ₹49 per month. This plan is fully ad-supported. The quarterly Mobile plan is available for ₹149, and the annual plan for ₹499.
JioHotstar Super Plan
Jio Hotstar’s Super plan is designed for those who want to watch content on their mobile as well as laptop, tablet or smart TV. Its monthly price is Rs 149 and it provides streaming facility on two devices simultaneously. This plan supports 1080p FHD resolution, which makes the viewing experience on big screens even better. The Super plan offers the entire content library of Jio Hotstar, which also includes Hollywood content in the base pack. However, this plan is also ad-supported. The quarterly subscription of the Super plan is available for Rs 349 and the annual plan for Rs 1,099.
JioHotstar Premium Plan
The Premium plan is JioHotstar’s most expensive and feature-rich subscription. It’s specifically designed for family users and those who enjoy high-quality content on a large screen. It’s priced at ₹299 per month, while quarterly and annual plans are available for ₹699 and ₹2,199, respectively. This plan allows streaming on four devices simultaneously, and content can be viewed in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision support. The Premium plan offers ad-free access to all content except live sports and live shows, though Hollywood content is already included.
If you only watch content on your mobile device and want to enjoy OTT content at a low cost, the Mobile plan is right for you.
