New Delhi: We have used the calculator many times since childhood. To solve math formulas in school, then with Intermediate and Scientific calculator in engineering, to solve heavy-handed questions. We always use a calculator to calculate the house and sometimes to add salary and money left in the account. Earlier, they used to take separate devices, but now they work in the phone itself. However, 90% of us would not know what each button on the calculator means. Now take m +, m-, mr and mc as an example. Nobody used these four, nor did they try to know what they are … Let us tell you today what they mean.

You may not know what is the use of m +, m-, mr and mc buttons. Now it is obvious that these four buttons would not have been kept without any work. But their importance was also never told. Why so? Do you know what they mean?

What is the m + button?

For your knowledge, let us know that the real name of m + is ‘Memory Plus’. Its main function is to add calculus to memory. That is, multiplying 2 different points and extracting their combined result.

Understand in simple language: Suppose you have 5 notes of 10 rupees and 5 rupees of 20 rupees. Now how much rupees do you have total? For this you will first do 10X5 and then 20X5. Then both results will be edited.

10X5 = 50

20X5 = 100

(10X5) + (20X5) = 50 + 100

Now to add it to the calculator, first we will multiply 10 by 5 and then press m +. Pressing m + will save its result.

Now multiply 20 by 5 and then press m +. Now both our calculations have been saved.

Now the mr button comes in handy,

now we press the mr button to know the result of both. The mr button means ‘memory recall’, which is used to know the results.

What happens to m-button?

Let me tell you, it has been named ‘memory minus’. Its function is to reduce the calculus from memory. It works opposite m +. This means multiplying two different numbers and subtracting them from the calculation.

Understand in easy language: You have 5 notes of 10 rupees and 5 notes of 20 rupees. Now we will reduce these two by multiplying them. That is,

20X5 = 100

10X5 = 50

(20X5) – (10X5) = 100-50

First we will multiply 120 by 5 and press m-. After this we will multiply 10 by 5 and press mr to get the result. We will get an answer.

What is the use of mc?

Remember, after completing the calculation, press the mc button. Otherwise the results of the next calculation may be wrong. mc is called ‘memory clear’. That is, all the calculus till now gets cleared with this button.
