Since when did voter day begin?
National Voters’ Day was started from 25 January 2011. The Election Commission started working on 26 January 1950. The purpose of the beginning of National Voters’ Day is to add more and more voters to the list, motivate them to vote.
What happens on voter day?
National Voters’ Day is dedicated to voters. Awareness is spread among voters on this day. New voters are encouraged to add names to the voter list. On this occasion, new voters are also honored by giving them voter cards.

President Ramnath Kovind will give the National Award on National Voters’ Day. State and district level officers who have done excellent work related to voting will be honored. This year, the e-voter card will be launched on National Voters Day. Whereas, President Ramnath Kovind will also inaugurate the web radio ‘ Hello Voters ‘ . Awareness will be spread among voters through this digital platform. Programs will be broadcast from web radio on the lines of FM radio service. Information related to voting will be given to the audience in Hindi, English and regional languages.
