Navratri and Dussehra Holiday: The Telangana government has released the holiday schedule for Dussehra during the academic year 2025. The government has issued separate calendars for schools and junior colleges. These holidays will give students and teachers an opportunity to celebrate the festival with their families.

School Holiday Schedule

Holidays begin: Sunday, September 21, 2025

School holidays end: Friday, October 3, 2025

Total holiday period: 13 days

Classes resume: Saturday, October 4, 2025

However, since October 4 falls on a Saturday, many students will not attend school that day and will resume classes directly on Monday, October 6. This means the school break for students could be extended by an extra two days.

Junior College Holiday Schedule

Holiday Begins: Sunday, September 28, 2025

Holiday Ends: Sunday, October 5, 2025

Total Holiday Days: 8

Classes Resume: Monday, October 6, 2025

Examination Schedule

All schools must complete the FA-2 (Formative Assessment 2) exams before the holidays. Immediately after the break, students must begin preparing for the SA-1 (Summative Assessment 1) exams, which will be held from October 24 to 31. The results will be declared by November 6, 2025.

Junior College Students

Students will have a short period of time to prepare after the holidays, as their half-yearly exams will be held from November 10 to 15, 2025. The Education Department has advised all schools and colleges to plan their academic schedules accordingly, taking into account the holidays and exam dates. Parents and students are also advised to enjoy the holiday break while also keeping their upcoming exams in mind.
