NEET UG, PG Admissions 2021: Central government has implemented reservation in medical courses, OBC will get 27% and EWS will get 10% benefit

The government has decided to implement reservation in NEET UG and PG examinations for admission to medical courses from this academic year. As per the orders under this, 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Section, EWS has been implemented. Under this, all medical, dental courses (MBBS/MD/MS/Diploma/BDS/MDS) will also come under the purview of this reservation.

This issue was pending for a long time and a solution was being awaited on this issue for a long time. At the same time, on July 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had directed the concerned Union Ministers to find a solution to this problem. At the same time, a decision has been taken on this issue today. As per the official press release, “This decision will benefit about 1500 OBC students in MBBS and 2500 OBC students in PG and around 550 EWS students in MBBS and around 1000 EWS students in UG every year.

Let us tell you that although the demand for reservation was going on for a long time, but the new Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently announced the dates of NEET examination and said that the examination will be conducted without giving the benefit of reservation to OBCs. After this statement of the Education Minister, the students started protesting. Many student organizations had conveyed their demand to the PMO. After this, taking cognizance of the matter, now the Central Government has taken this decision. On the other hand, talking about the NEET UG exam, it will be conducted in the month of September. Let us inform that this time the examination has been delayed due to increase in the cases of Kovid-19 infection in the last week of March.
