SBI New ATM Rules: SBI has increased the charges for transactions at other banks’ ATMs. Beginning December 1, 2025, cash withdrawals beyond the free limit will cost ₹23 plus GST (SBI ATM Charges).
SBI New ATM Rules: State Bank of India (SBI) has revised the charges related to ATMs and Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machines (ADWM). This change will apply to transactions made at ATMs of other banks. The bank stated that this change has been made due to an increase in interchange fees. This change will most impact savings and salary account holders who exceed the prescribed limit at non-SBI ATMs. No changes have been made to transactions made at SBI’s own ATMs. This means that transactions at the bank’s ATMs will remain the same as before.
SBI ATM Charges

Under the new system, if a customer withdraws cash from a non-SBI ATM after the free limit is exhausted, they will be charged ₹23 plus GST each time. Previously, this fee was ₹21 plus GST. The fee for non-financial transactions, such as balance inquiries or mini statements, has been increased to ₹11 plus GST, down from ₹10 plus GST. SBI stated that this change was made as part of a review of ATM service pricing following the increase in interchange fees.
New Savings Account Rules
There is no change in the free transaction limit for savings account holders. Regular savings account customers can make a total of five free transactions per month at non-SBI ATMs, including both financial and non-financial transactions. New charges will apply only after exceeding this limit.
However, the rules for salary package savings accounts have been changed. These account holders will now be allowed a total of 10 free transactions per month at non-SBI ATMs across all locations. Previously, these accounts allowed unlimited free usage. New charges will apply once the limit is exceeded.
SBI has also clarified that certain accounts and services will not be affected by this amendment. Charges for Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts will remain unchanged. Transactions made using SBI debit cards at SBI ATMs will remain free, as per existing rules. Additionally, cardless cash withdrawals at SBI ATMs will remain unlimited and free. These new charges will also not affect Kisan Credit Card (KCC) accounts.
