 New e-Visa service: Japan has officially launched its e-Visa program for many countries including India. This single-entry visa offers a validity of up to 90 days and is specifically designed for travelers planning to enter Japan by air and holding an ordinary passport. This has streamlined the process of obtaining a visa for people visiting Japan for short-term tourism.

Who can apply for Japan e-Visa?

Talking about the eligibility to apply for Japan e-Visa, people from many countries and regions can apply for it. These include Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, UAE, UK, USA as well as Indian citizens and foreign citizens. Residents of these countries or regions, except those exempt from short-term visas, can apply for an e-Visa through the Japan e-Visa website.

For this, go to Japan e-Visa website and follow these steps:

  • Choose the right visa for your trip and the documents to submit
  • Verify required visas and documents
  • Enter required information for online visa application
  • The results of your visa application will be sent to your registered email address
  • After this you will have to pay the visa fee notified by e-mail.
  • E-Visa will be issued after visa fee payment

During this application process, one may be requested to appear in person for an interview at the Japanese Overseas Establishment having jurisdiction over the applicant’s place of residence.
