It is expected to be dedicated to the public in the second week of January. In the third section of the expressway, only two percent of the work remains in the Unnao-Haldwani section. Furthermore, the entire expressway, including the Meerut-Badaun section, is ready for operation. The 594-km expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj has a total of 1,498 major structures, of which 1,497 have been completed.
The first sector from Meerut to Badaun includes a total of 322 major structures spanning a length of 129 km. Work on all of these, including Simbhaoli, has been completed. According to UPDA officials, trial runs will be completed in December. Following final testing, the Prime Minister will inaugurate it on January 15th. Fighter aircraft landing structures have been constructed at five locations on the expressway, which can be used in emergency situations.
The state will receive a new highway to Prayagraj in the form of the Ganga Expressway in the coming year. Construction of this 594 km expressway has been completed. This will accelerate the industrial development of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.
Industrial corridors are being built on both sides of the expressway. This will provide a more convenient route for people to travel between the two ends of the state. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is finalizing the expressway. 7,453.13 hectares of land has been acquired for this ₹36,230 crore project. It is currently being expanded to Haridwar.
The normal speed of vehicles on this six-lane expressway will be around 120 kilometers per hour. A 3.5-kilometer airstrip for fighter jets has also been completed in Jalalabad, Shahjahanpur, along the expressway. Three more such locations are being developed.
The construction of the Ganga Expressway is complete. Now, preparations are underway for its trial. We are aiming to conduct a trial run in December and inaugurate it in January.
