Supplies have been disrupted due to the conflict. However, as of today—Wednesday—companies have not hiked the prices of LPG cylinders. Since the onset of the conflict, the price of domestic LPG cylinders has been raised once, while the rates for commercial cylinders have been increased twice.

Commercial Cylinder Rates Hiked on April 1st

At the beginning of this very month—specifically on April 1, 2026—the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were increased by amounts ranging from ₹195.50 to ₹218. However, there was no hike in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders at that time. A price hike of ₹51 was also implemented on the smaller 5-kilogram cylinders. It is worth noting that the last price hike for domestic LPG cylinders occurred on March 7.

What the Government Says (Govt Statement on LPG)

In a statement issued by the Central Government on Monday, it was affirmed that the situation regarding LPG supplies remains completely normal. To date, no reports of any shortages have been received from any distributor. Furthermore, the Central Government has announced that the entire booking process has now been made completely OTP-based.

Some Good News Received Yesterday

A new LPG tanker arrived yesterday, Tuesday, at Kandla in Gujarat. This tanker had crossed the Strait of Hormuz on April 11. Since the war began, India has successfully brought in several of its LPG tankers from the Gulf nations.
