Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the metro extension from Motijheel to Kanpur Central on May 30, which will begin service for the general public from May 31. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has made extensive preparations for the convenience of passengers, under which additional staff will be deployed at the stations. The staff has been given special training so that passengers can have a smooth and safe travel experience.
New metro: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the extension of metro service from Motijheel to Kanpur Central on 30 May. After this, metro service will start for general passengers on this route from 6 am on 31 May.
Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has started extensive preparations. To avoid any kind of problem during metro operation, additional metro staff will be deployed at all stations from IIT to Kanpur Central.
These metro workers will coordinate with the station controller and operation department and help the passengers in every possible way. A special training session was organized at Kanpur Central station on Tuesday to help the passengers.
In this, officials from various departments of the metro gave detailed information to the staff about system operation, assistance to passengers, handling emergency situations, crowd management, AFC, ticket vending machine, fire alarm, CCTV and lift-escalator operation. Apart from this, training was also given on first aid and emergency exit plan.
UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar said that this training session was organized to make the metro staff aware of the responsibilities related to passenger assistance and metro operation. Our effort is to provide better experience to the passengers.
He said that this route with 14 metro stations and about 16 km long from IIT to Kanpur Central will provide smooth, safe and world-class transportation to the city residents.
