Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that AI cameras have been installed to do real-time monitoring of large construction sites in Delhi. So that the AQI of the construction site can also be measured.

Now in Delhi, if you have not registered on the dust portal of DPCC i.e. Delhi Pollution Control Committee, then you will not be able to construct a building. This step has been taken to stop pollution in Delhi. DPCC has taken this step to stop the dust flying during building construction. It is being told that the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has taken strict steps to stop the dust spreading from construction sites in Delhi.

What changes have happened

Now all construction and demolition (C&D) projects of 500 square meters or more will be required to first register on DPCC’s Dust Pollution Control Self-Assessment Portal (https://dustcontrol.dpcc.delhi.gov.in). Without this, MCD, NDMC or DCB will not approve the building plan. DPCC has directed the municipal bodies that

  1. Registration on the portal should be made a part of the building plan application process.
  2. The MCD approval system should be linked to the DPCC portal via API.
  3. 14-point dust control guidelines should be included in all building approvals.
  4. It should be mandatory to install a display board with DPCC registration ID at every construction site. According to DPCC, PM2.5 and PM10 sensors, 360-degree cameras and fortnightly self-declaration arrangements will also be necessary at the construction site. DPCC Chairman Sanjeev Kumar has directed the MCD to send a report on the action taken on this order soon.
