FASTag KYC has been made mandatory for car owners from March 31. NHAI has instructed to do KYC as per the rules of the Reserve Bank. If you do not do this, your Fastag may be blacklisted.

If you are a car owner, then there is important news for you. Because Fastag KYC has become mandatory from March 31. In such a situation, you should update Fastag KYC before taking the car off the road. If you cannot do this, your Fastag will be blacklisted. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has directed all vehicle owners to update their FASTag KYC from their banks by March 31. If this is not done, the FASTag account will be blacklisted.

Update KYC

According to the rules of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NHAI has been instructed to update KYC to remove the shortcomings of Fastag. Actually there were reports that multiple Fastags were being installed in one vehicle. Also, FASTags are being issued without KYC, due to which KYC update has been made mandatory.

How to update Fastag KYC

  • Visit the official FASTag website fastag.ihmcl.com.
  • Login with your mobile number and OTP (One Time Password)
  • Click on ‘My Profile’ tab on the homepage
  • Click on KYC tab
  • Upload your vehicle registration certificate, driving license, address proof, identity proof and photo and fill all the details.

How to update FASTag KYC from bank portal

  • Go to the official website of the bank issuing FASTag
  • Log in to the bank’s website
  • Once logged in, go to FASTag segment and go to KYC section
  • Upload your Wheelock Registration Certificate, Driving License, Address Proof, Identity Proof and Photograph.
  • Enter all the required information.

Note – FASTag will be valid for five years. That means its validity will have to be increased after five years.
