The postman of your area will insure the vehicle through smart phone in few minutes and will not charge any extra charges. For this, it is necessary to have an India Post Payments Bank account or payment is also possible from the IPPB account of a close relative. The Department of Posts has tied up with two insurance companies Bajaj Allianz and Tata AIG General Insurance for this. The above information was given by Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of Varanasi Zone.




Postmaster General Krishan Kumar Yadav told that after reaching the postman’s house, the customer will take his mobile number, email id, nominee details and India Post Payments Bank account number along with the RC of the vehicle and insure the vehicle immediately from his smart phone (Micro ATM). Will give The insurance amount will be debited from the customer’s IPPB account and the insurance policy will reach the customer’s email ID immediately. The insurance done by the postal department will be completely paperless. No paperwork is required to get the insurance. About 100 vehicles were insured by postal workers by running a special awareness campaign for this on 6th August in Varanasi region.




Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the facility of vehicle insurance can be availed from the head post office, sub post office, as well as from the branch post office located in rural areas. Along with this, if the customer is unable to reach the post office, then he can also insure the vehicle by calling the postman at home. There will be no extra charge for this. If the postman has a personal number, then call it, otherwise you can call the postman home by calling the India Post Payments Bank service’s toll free number 155299. At present, 212 postal workers have been trained for this in Varanasi region and other postal workers are also being trained.
