Now if drinking water turns out to be contaminated, then compensation will be given, how and where to complain

If it has been proved in the water test that you are facing disease by drinking water, then you are entitled to get full compensation from that water supply department or agency.

Lucknow: If you are getting contaminated drinking water supply, and if the department is not getting alert, then there is no need to worry. Soon you will be able to easily check the quality of drinking water available from pipe taps, hand pumps available in your home, office, educational institute and other places. If it has been proved in the examination of water that you are facing disease by drinking water, then you are entitled to get full compensation from that water supply department or agency.




Drinking water testing laboratories across the country are now being opened for the general public. Under the Water Life Mission, diseases have been linked to drinking water. This scheme will be started soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tehsil level 48 laboratory inactive due to lack of proper staff and resources.

The state government sent the details of the laboratories, their GPS codes, facilities available there, their addresses, who officers are posted there, etc. to the center.

Suggestion for charging 50 rupees per sample for checking 8 standards of dirty water like TDS, Chlorine, pH, Hardness etc.

It is proposed to charge a fee of Rs 600 per sample for testing drinking water containing toxic metals and bacteria like arsenic, iron, mercury, chromium, manganese, nickel.
