OLA will give jobs to more than 10 thousand women, only women workers will run the world’s largest e-scooter plant

Ola said that 10 thousand women will be appointed in the e-scooter manufacturing plant of Tamil Nadu (Women Employees). With this, it will become the world’s only motor vehicle manufacturing plant operated by women only.


New Delhi. Ola has taken another big initiative after launching the e-scooter in the country’s auto market. Company’s co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal told that only women will operate the Ola electric scooter plant in Tamil Nadu. For this, more than 10 thousand women will be employed in the plant. He said that self-reliant India needs self-reliant women. Also said that this will be the only motor vehicle manufacturing plant in the world operated by women only.

Bhavish Aggarwal, who will be fully responsible for each vehicle, welcomed them by sharing a video on social media of the first batch of women working in the Ola e-scooter plant. She said that this Ola FutureFactory will become the world’s largest factory run by women only with more than 10,000 women employees. This is Ola’s first of its kind effort to create a more inclusive workforce to provide women with economic opportunities. Ola said that it has invested heavily in improving the core manufacturing skills of these women. She will be solely responsible for every vehicle manufactured at the Ola Future factory.


GDP can increase due to opportunities for women’

Ola Chairman Aggarwal, citing a report, said that only women getting equal opportunities in the labor workforce will increase the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 27 The percentage may increase. He said that the participation of women in manufacturing is the lowest at 12 percent. Providing women with economic opportunities and enabling them not only improve their lives but also their families and society as a whole. Agarwal said that to make India a manufacturing hub in the world, we should emphasize on including women in the workforce and enhancing their skills.


The plant may produce 1 crore e-scooters every year.
E-scooter maker Ola last year announced an investment of Rs 2,400 crore on its first e-scooter plant in Tamil Nadu. Ola said that initially it will start production with a capacity of 10 lakh per annum. According to the demand of the market, it can be increased to 20 lakhs. Ola had claimed that once fully ready, its plant would have a capacity of 10 million e-vehicles annually. Last week, the company shifted the sales of Ola e-scooter S-1 by a week to 15 September 2021. The company launched two variants of the e-scooter Ola S-1 and S-1 Pro last month. Their price is Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999.
