OnePlus Oppo Merger: OnePlus is officially merging with Oppo. Founder and CEO Pete Lau said in a blog post on Wednesday that the integration with Oppo will help OnePlus develop better products and bring faster and more stable software updates to existing products.

Both the brands are owned by BBK Electronics. These two companies have been working together at some level for the past one year. Lau is looking at the product strategy for both OnePlus and Oppo. He said the past changes had a positive effect. However, he has not talked much about the future roadmap so far.

OnePlus aims to connect with more customers

He also told that OnePlus will continue to work independently. He said that OnePlus will continue to interact with customers for product launches, events and feedback through the same OnePlus channels as before. OnePlus aims to connect with new customers with this.

Lau said that he is at a turning point in the future of OnePlus. They have started to develop their product portfolio, with which they will be able to give more options to the customers than before. He further said that he wants to continue to provide the highest quality OnePlus experience to the customers. And to do that, they have to adapt to it as a team and as a brand.

There is nothing surprising in the merger. OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9 series in China with Oppo’s Color OS software. Earlier, all OnePlus phones sold in China were based on Hydrogen OS.
