Oxygen Express: 150 tons ‘Sanjeevani’ delivered in last 24 hours, Green Corridor built

After the increase in corona virus cases, many states are facing lack of oxygen. At the same time, Oxygen Express is being run by the Railways to meet the lack of oxygen.

New Delhi. The country is currently battling the second wave of Coronavirus. In the midst of the ongoing oxygen crisis in many parts of the country, the Railways (Railways) have now taken the front. In fact, in the last 24 hours, the railways have supplied about 150 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) through 10 containers in various states.

The ‘Oxygen Express’ train arrived in Nashik and Lucknow on Saturday carrying liquid medical oxygen for supplies to Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Railways said that some containers were kept in Nagpur and Varanasi on the way to supply oxygen in these areas.

Oxygen express service starting 21 April
Railways said that the third Oxygen Express started its journey from Lucknow on Saturday morning. Andhra Pradesh and Delhi are discussing with the Railways to run more such trains. Oxygen Express service was started from April 21.
Green corridor built between Lucknow and Varanasi

“Currently, LMO-filled tankers in Visakhapatnam and Bokaro are being transported through the Ro-Ro service of Indian Railways,” the railways said in a statement. To meet the requirement of medical oxygen in Uttar Pradesh, a green corridor has been built between Lucknow to Varanasi for the movement of trains. A distance of 270 kilometers was covered in four hours and 20 minutes at a speed of 62.35 kilometers per hour via train. Moved a total of 10 containers with 150 tons of oxygen in the past 24 hours. ”

The Indian Railways will continue to operate the Oxygen Express train for the next few days to carry liquid medical oxygen and oxygen cylinders in view of the severe shortage of oxygen amidst increasing cases of Kovid-19.
